Day 21 - Harajuku, again..

Today started just as yesterday did, completely covered skies with dark clouds with the lingering sense of heavy rain. Fortunately by the time class was done, majority of the clouds had split and some sun was peaking through. But, so many people were already set in lazy-stay-at-home-mode that I wasn't able to go do anything big with the usual crowd.

Before I was leaving Bob mentioned to me that he was going to meet an acquaintance in Shinjuku and that it'd be welcome to tag along. So, I said what the heck and I followed him to Shinjuku. Once we got there we called this person only to find out she wasn't very familiar with the Shinjuku station. That was just perfect because on the phone she said she didn't know where she was, and she didn't seem to understand much English when spoken to. And the next thing I hear coming from Bob is "I'm going to have my friend talk to you, he speaks good Japanese." Hahaha, thanks Bob you jerk.

He passes me the phone and I have to instantaneously decipher Japanese so we can meet up. Although I was able to tell a bit of what she said, whenever she mentioned where she was, she mumbled and I couldn't hear. And my forget-Japanese syndrome relapsed when I tried to tell her where we were. I forgot my words and sentence structure so all that came out was, "umm. uhh."

Once we met up we headed over to Harajuku to spend the rest of the day there. It was pretty fun, although this has to be the fourth or fifth time there. We did the usual, walking down the main strip and got a crepe from one of the many competing crepe stands. After our bellies were filled we walked a bit and found ourselves taking more of those little girly picture things. It was fun I guess, but Bob and I aren't really the type so our pictures didn't come out that great. She seemed to have fun though.

When we were all done and ready to eat, we just headed to one of those ticket places to get a fast dinner and headed back to the station. It was early when we separated and went home, but I was rather strangely tired by this time, and Bob had two tests to study for. The online weather forecast says tomorrow will be sunny, so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping they're right. I really want to go somewhere new like Ueno or Ginza~ Guess I'll just have to wait and see.
