Day 6 - Shibuya
Today was a bit eventful. I thought yesterday's train rush was bad, boy did I not see today coming. There was a typhoon that hit so the traffic getting on the train was worse. We actually didn't make it on the first 3 or so trains because it was so packed. And once we got on, we could barely move or breath - it was horrible. And when we got to other stops, I was practically shoved out of the train by people
getting off and had trouble getting back on. Some students from a different group didn't actually make it back on the same train.Once at school, it was another day -- the class I'm in now is a bit more suitable for me. After class my friends Lynn and Luna (who evidently are also from UH) showed us around Harajuku some more.
We found my Uniqlo store and bought a nice pink T-shirt you'll see me wearing in future pictures. Afterward, we continued walking until we hit Shibuya. Wow, there were so many people walking around the crosswalk it was awesome. I seemed to always be amazed by wherever I go. I got to see the statue of the dog named 'Hachiko' which is a famous meeting spot in Japan.
We kept walking and ended up finding another Uniqlo store (with more products) where I bought some other items. I also found an HMV which is a giant music store. My mind was blown when I walked in because it was J-Pop from door to door for about 6 levels. I didn't bother going up to the 2nd floor because I probably would've fainted or something. I did actually find an album I've been searching for - Younha's 'Teen's Collection'. So I bought it impulsively and will open it up later.
In the main crossroad in Shibuya, there are about 5 different directions on the ground to choose from, but people walk in all directions. We stupidly decided to stay in the center a bit too long, and were honked at by passing cars when the lights turned red on us and we were still in the street. Ya, so we ran the other way in time to wait for the next set of pedestrian lights.
After dinner we made our way back to the apartments where Nami (who is evidently Korean) and Clinton hung out until just moments ago. I am so tired, I'm about to fall asleep now.
